So how did we get here? I have been a professional photographer for the greatest part of my adult life, ignoring a stint as a cook on an overland truck and some office work in London. My passion for photography began whilst travelling through Africa in our old landrover called Earnest in the late 1990s. Pretty much at the same time as starting a family in London I started my first studio photography business called Blue Horizon Photography - an ode to the amazing open spaces of Africa! I quite quickly found my passion for maternity and newborn photography and on returning to South Africa around the time of the Soccer World Cup in 2010 I started Hayley Walker Photography.

But what about Photoset? - As all photographers know there is a ton of work that happens behind the scenes in a photography business. Marketing, Editting, After-Sales, Accounting, it never ends. Photoset was started out of a frustration of having to spend so much time and effort selling and doing the admin after the shoot.

In particular I found the admin around school shoots a real pain. Manual orders, manual payments, POPI Act, cutoff dates for delivery and managing the printing and packaging before delivering into the school. Photoset was created to solve all the painful administrative tasks that South African Photographers have to deal with after a shoot.

It is going to be a journey but my goal is to create a South African Photographers Platform for hosting and selling your images. - You shoot we do the rest!
